The Jarrettsville Taekwondo School is sponsored by the Jarrettsville Recreational Council. The class has three sections - Taekwondo, (the fighting and form), Hap qui do (the self defense portion), and Judo (throwing, sweeping falling and engaging in mat combat). In addition, guest speakers are invited to class to discuss issues ranging from sports training to life skills. Beyond becoming a skilled martial artist, a primary goal of this class is to broaden and improve the character of the students.
Master Joe Nawrozki is the chief instructor of the Jarettsville Taekwondo School. Master Joe is a 5th Dan Black Belt instructor and has studied martial arts and eastern thought for 34 years. Find out more about the Jarrettsville Instructors by clicking on Instructors.
Our Instructor, and Black Belts are dedicated and motivated. Some are medal winners in the state and national junior Olympics. Others train for personal growth and themselves. We are definitely not a black belt factory -- Students are well conditioned, highly spirited and learn fighting, street self defense, and judo, and that truly takes patience and time. But high expectations abound in Jarrettsville Tae Kwon Do.
At the 2001, 2002 and 2003 National Junior Olympics, Jarrettsville was the only recreation council program competing among 5,000 of the nation's most gifted competitors! And when a student is qualified to test for a black belt rank, he or she earns an internationally recognized ranking under the U.S. Taekwondo Union and U.S. Olympic Committee. Jarrettsville is also like a family because we support each other and make a positive difference in our world. Mind...Body...spirit. Simply put, that is us.
Jarrettsville Taekwondo is not just about martial arts. Students also make visits to the veterans at Perry Point veterans hospital. See what goes on at Perry Point.
