Perry Point VA hospital -- as part of immersing ourselves in the real world, our students have developed a partnership with the Perry Point Veteran's hospital in Perryville. We strongly believe in our country and feel that those men and women who served in our wars deserve our continuing love and support -- not just when they come home from overseas. Our students have been enriched -- where else could they hear a first - person account of parachuting into Normandy in World War II or listen as a veteran tells of walking in a dark jungle on combat patrol in Vietnam? And the veterans, too, have been spiritually lifted -- we celebrated this past Christmas with them, complete with Santa Claus and our little guys distributing gifts to the patients. But most of all, the best picture of this terrific relationship is one of our children sitting next to a veteran, playing tic-tac-toe and watching a smile cross an old man's face.
